About Us
Bhabna NZ, or simply Bhabna, is a community of like-minded Bengalis settled in NZ. We came into existence in 2002 when a handful of visionaries created a bond based on harmony, respect, and a shared cultural identity. The bond strengthened over the years and we are now a 150+ members strong association based in Auckland, NZ.
As the name speaks, Bhabna is a concept that resonates with the very idea of India. We celebrate the unifying diversity within us and are equally rooted in our “Bengali” identity. We oraganise various events like Kali Puja, Cultural Show, Dol/Holi, Sports Day, Picnic Day, Independence Day of India, Saraswati Puja, Mahalaya, Lakshmi Puja, and so on. We also co-celebrate Durga Puja and Eid al-Fitr with other Bengali communities of Auckland. Our calendar is teeming with year-round festivals and celebrations.
To take this rich heritage and envious history of Bengal to our next generation, we heartily welcome new members. If you like to feel connected and reconnect with your Bengali root, Bhabna is the platform where your dreams will come true!

Kali Puja At Bhabna
For over 20 years, Bhabna has proudly celebrated Kali Puja where devotion and celebration come together seamlessly.
At the heart of this celebration is the worship of Maa Kali, a powerful goddess revered for her strength and protection. We perform traditional rituals accompanied by devotional music and prayers, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere for all attendees.
As the evening unfolds, a spectacular fireworks display will light up the Auckland sky, adding excitement and joy to the festivities. One of the highlights of our event is the delicious Bengali cuisine that brings the flavours of home to New Zealand.
Kali Puja at Bhabna is more than just a religious event; it’s an opportunity for families and friends to come together, share stories, and create cherished memories in a warm, welcoming environment.
